Poems from Ghosts of Stages Past

beyond the black box

when the curtains fade,
and the lights fall,
after the applause is
an echo in my mind
I put away my make-up
you let down your hair
is it really you?

no

always ready to open
anywhere, anytime
anything for love
lusting for the rush
that compares only to
orgasm

who is that lurking
in the wings
is it me?

no.
well..
maybe...

For my 45th birthday, my best friend, Geoff, sent me a few poems that I wrote in college.(Or around 20something years ago...anyway...) I think they still hold up.
Here's another,(btw the end is lol! ) enjoy!

THANX

Old(odd) day, Old ways,
Old friends
Possibilities Ramble on and on

Doors opening to dreams
Peace is near, isn't it?
death transforms awareness
Love devours nerves of steel

Time lingers on...
smoke clouds the jokes
of Reality

she wonders if...always thinking
finally reaching the world
she needs and deserves

are you by her side?
weren't you always there for her?
She loves you.
She loves you all.

fear lingers, she scent it
(she fights for beyond)
for this she thankx you
ferociously forever
Jules

peace.
